How to Cook Chocolate Chip Granola Bars

1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. granola

Heat oven to 375°F. Grease baking pan, 13x9x2″. Mix shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla thoroughly. Stir remaining ingredients in. Spread dough through pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Makes 2 dozen bars.
